Who are the best HVAC companies in Vaughan in 2026?

The best HVAC companies in Vaughan in 2026 are Pro House Maintenance, Smile HVAC and Bison Air. Ideal Heating and Air Conditioning, Thermal Concepts, Pro Climate, Aurora Star Tech and GasGuys.ca complete the top eight. Every ranked firm holds an active TSSA registration and 4.9 or 5.0 Google stars.

1. Pro House Maintenance: best for comparing vetted HVAC companies for free

Pro House Maintenance is a free service that matches Vaughan homeowners with HVAC contractors who passed our checks: TSSA registration, WSIB clearance, insurance, references and a background check. You describe the job once, compare several written quotes and hire the firm you pick. It ranks first because the vetting happens before you call.

Vaughan is a crowded market, with 62 HVAC firms meeting our rating bar. We had to check 35 of them in TSSA’s registry to confirm 12. Pro House Maintenance runs the same checks for you, whether you live in Woodbridge, Maple or Kleinburg.

What we check before a HVAC contractor joins our network
  • Trade licences. We confirm an active TSSA fuels contractor registration. TSSA says registered fuels contractors are the only businesses legally authorized to do fuels related work in Ontario.
  • WSIB clearance and liability insurance. We confirm a current WSIB clearance and commercial general liability insurance before a pro joins our network.
  • Reviews and references. We read public reviews and speak with past clients before a pro is accepted, looking for patterns, not one-off complaints.
  • Background checks. We run background checks before a pro is matched with homeowners, because the people in your home matter as much as the work.
How working with Pro House Maintenance works
  1. Tell us about the job. Share the project and your address through the free quote form. It takes about a minute.
  2. Get matched with vetted pros. We match you with several pros who have already passed our checks and serve your area.
  3. Compare written quotes. Each pro gives you a written quote, so you can compare price, scope and timing side by side.
  4. Hire with a guarantee behind you. You choose who to hire. Work from a pro we matched you with is backed by our satisfaction guarantee; ask us for the terms before you sign.
Cost to you: Free for homeowners. There is no charge to request quotes or to be matched.

How do you choose an HVAC company in Vaughan?

Choose a Vaughan HVAC company by confirming its TSSA registration first, then its WSIB clearance and liability insurance. Ask the City of Vaughan whether your job needs a permit. Ontario law requires a written contract for any home renovation over $50, and the province advises a deposit of 10% or less.

  1. Check the licence. TSSA says registered fuels contractors are the only businesses legally authorized to do fuels related work in Ontario, which includes gas furnaces. Search the company in TSSA's contractor directory.
  2. Confirm WSIB clearance. Ask for the company’s WSIB account number and confirm a current clearance on WSIB’s free eClearance lookup.
  3. Ask for proof of liability insurance. A certificate of commercial general liability insurance should name the company that will do the work.
  4. Ask about city licences and permits. Ask Vaughan whether the job needs a municipal licence or building permit before work starts.
  5. Get it in writing. Under Ontario law, any home renovation contract worth more than $50 must be in writing, and the final price cannot exceed an estimate by more than 10% unless you agree (Ontario consumer protection rules).
  6. Keep the deposit small. Ontario recommends a down payment of no more than 10%, and never paying in full before the work is done.

TSSA’s directory is direct: “Registered Fuels Contractors are the only businesses that are legally authorized to do fuels related work in Ontario.” Three of our 7 Vaughan picks have registrations that expire in 2026, so search the directory again on the day you sign.

Every contractor we match in Vaughan has passed our TSSA, WSIB and insurance checks first. If your upstairs runs hot in summer, you can also get insulation quotes in Vaughan before you size a new AC.
